Having a high IQ is prized in Western society but what about our EQ (Emotional Quotient)? Daniel Goleman's seminal research in this area is explored in this course which leaves the learner with tools and ideas for developing their EQ and applying these in practice.
Breathe.
How conscious are you of what your breath is doing? The breath is a beautiful system - we do it unconsciously, but we can also bring it under our conscious control. It is a vital element of the nervous system and this practical workshop introduces staff to stress management techniques and basic breath-work practices helping them to manage stress and to better understand the needs of clients in distress.
Ground.
Emotional distress, stress, overwhelm, anxiety...these are all common issues in the social sector - in our grounding course we explore the body's reactions and how we can use mindful responses to support grounding. This course will benefit staff for themselves and client work alike.
Make Space.
Finding time and planning in a way that accommodates work-life balance can be a challenge. In this course we look at how we can make space, plan like a master and forgive ourselves when we realise we aren't super-human!
Stretch.
A physical session that introduces staff to the need to re-connect to their bodies, using contemporary thinking about stress within the mind-body system and the value of physical movement for our wellbeing. All movements are easy for anyone to do and introduced carefully and considerately.
Thrive.
In this bonus session for the complete Wellness course the group are introduced to the concept of action learning sets as they explore a dilemma and gain the insight to using this powerful group coaching approach within their teams
